*The Steiner Brothers (Rick Steiner & Scott Steiner) had been the reigning NWA - National Wrestling Alliance United States Tag Team Champions when the titles were purchased by WCW - World Championship Wrestling and renamed the WCW United States Tag Team Championship in March 1991. On April 6, 1991, The Steiner Brothers vacated the titles after winning the NWA World Tag Team Championship. The Fabulous Freebirds then defeated The Young Pistols (Steve Armstrong & Tracy Smothers) to win the vacant titles
